Garlic Cheesy Bread
This garlicky bread is made with TWO types of cheeses, melty mozzarella and salty parmesan. You can shred the mozzarella yourself or use slices of mozzarella (they come pre-sliced in an 8 oz package or just slice it up).

Garlic Butter Spread Ingredients
Only a few ingredients are needed to make homemade garlic bread this is garlic, butter, cheese, seasonings, and definitely a bread loaf. Using high quality ingredients will ensure that you get the best garlic bread. Full ingredients are at the bottom of this post in the recipe card.
- Butter: Unsalted butter that has been brought to room temperature.
- Garlic: Fresh garlic is a must to get the bold garlicky flavor you need for this garlic bread. Use more or less as you like.
- Oil: Use a great quality extra virgin olive oil.
- Parsley: Fresh, chopped parsley leaves.
- Salt: A little salt will help bring out the flavors of the garlic bread.
- Pepper: Freshly ground pepper will give the best flavor.
- Cheese: This recipe uses a combination of cheese, mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese. You can slice the mozzarella into slices to stick in between the bread or shred it. It is best to hand shred the cheese yourself than to get the stuff that is pre-shredded.
How to Make Garlic Bread

- Preheat oven. Preheat the oven to 425°F and pull out a baking tray.
- Cut bread. Set the bread loaf on a cutting board. Using a serrated knife cut the bread into 1 1/2-2 inch thick slices making sure not to cut all the way through (leave about 1/2 inch uncut at the bottom of the loaf).
- Mix garlic spread. In a small bowl, add in softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, olive oil, salt, pepper, and shredded cheeses. Mix well.
- Stuff bread. Stuff the herb butter mixture in between bread slices (add sliced mozzarella cheese in after, if using). To split the butter into more equal portions for the whole loaf, flatten out the mixture and draw a line down the center of it.
- Bake bread. Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and place on baking sheet. Uncover the bread and cook for 5 minutes to make the bread a golden brown.

How to Store Garlic Bread
- How to store garlic bread at room temperature: It is best to store garlic bread at room temperature and not in the refrigerator. Just put cooled slices into an airtight container or zip bag with air squeezed out. It should last about 2-3 days at room temperature.
- How to freeze garlic bread: Let the bread completely cool down. Double wrap in plastic wrap and then wrap with foil. Freeze up to 3 months, make sure to label with recipe and date. When ready to heat up
- How to reheat frozen garlic bread: Remove plastic and aluminum foil. Bake bread at 300 degrees F for 20 minutes or until heated through.
Can Cheese Garlic Bread be Reheated?
- How to reheat garlic bread in the oven: Wrap any bread that is leftover with tin foil. Place on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-15 minutes or until heated through.
- How to reheat garlic bread in the microwave: Heat bread in microwave for only about 10 seconds and eat immediately because the bread can become super hard after being heated this way.

- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese shredded or 12 slices

Notes
- Use freshly grated mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese for the best meltyness. I don’t recommend using the powdered pre-grated parmesan cheese.
- For a pop of freshness, add the zest of one lemon to the butter mixture.
