Soccer ball style mozzarella pizza balls

The Football World Cup opens its festivities tomorrow: needless to say, for fans, it’s off to a month of football nights! ⚽️⚽️

To tell the truth, at home, I don’t expect much enthusiasm on the subject, no one was really a fan but even so – 98 effect obliges – you never know!

Soccer ball style mozzarella pizza balls

Anyway, I wanted to make some soccer ball style mozzarella pizza balls. These are mozzarella balls “wrapped” in homemade pizza dough.

Some of the balls are black, thanks to the squid ink that was used to color a third of the pizza dough . I lined them up next to each other to form this soccer ball.

A turn in the oven and this very convivial dish is ready to go on your TV tray. We eat them as they are or dipped in a marinara sauce. The stringy mozzarella makes this dish very gourmet!

And if you’re not into football, it also works very well in front of a good film!
